Palmier - AI Video Editor

• macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later — this is macOS-only for now
• No account needed to use the editor or the MCP server
• For generative AI you'll want either a paid plan (credits) or your own Anthropic API key for the in-app chat
• For the MCP magic — an MCP client like Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Codex

1. Open the .dmg and drag Palmier Pro into your Applications folder
2. Launch the app — no login required to start editing
3. Create a new project (or open an existing one) to spin up your workspace

From the media panel, you can generate assets or import your own footage:

• Pick a model and write a prompt for the look or sound you want
• Generate images, video, and audio — set resolution, duration, and aspect ratio
• Use first and last frame control to lock the opening and closing of a clip
• Add reference images when you need style or subject consistency
• Organize generations into folders inside your project library

Build your edit like you would in any NLE, then use the AI tricks:

• Click any clip (AI or imported) to upscale or AI-edit it without leaving the timeline
• On AI clips, rerun the same prompt or tweak it to generate a variation
• Double-click to open the source footage in the viewer
• Inspect the prompt, first frame, last frame, and references used for any generation

Palmier has a built-in side-chat that runs on your own Anthropic API key (BYOK) or your subscription. It shares the same tools as the MCP server.

• Describe the shot or edit you want in plain language
• Use @ to reference a specific image when you want chat to match a look, subject, or frame
• Chat can generate assets and drop them on the timeline for you

This is the fun part. When the app is open, it exposes a local MCP server at http://127.0.0.1:19789/mcp.

Easiest path: in the app go to Help → MCP Instructions for a one-click install into Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, and Claude Desktop.

When the edit is done, export for delivery or hand off to another editor:

• MP4 — H.264, H.265, or ProRes
• NLE XML — for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve
