💰 What is Kickbacks?

Kickbacks lets Claude users earn money from the time their AI coding tools spend thinking.

Instead of showing random spinner text like "Discombobulating...", Kickbacks shows a sponsored message and shares up to 50% of the ad revenue with you. Earnings accumulate automatically while Claude Code or Codex is working.

✅ Step 0 — Requirements

As of writing this, Kickbacks only supports Claude on VSCode, so you must have VSCode installed.

Download VSCode

📦 Step 1 — Install Kickbacks

Visit the kickbacks.ai homepage for more details.

Install the extension

🖥️ Step 2 — Open Claude on VSCode

Launch Claude Code normally on VSCode via the terminal.

Now just use Claude as you normally do — while Claude is thinking, you'll notice sponsored messages replacing the default spinner text!

🔐 Step 3 — Sign in

To verify your results, just log in to the kickbacks.ai homepage.

✔️ Step 4 — Verify it's working

After signing in, you should see your dashboard with your earnings!

💵 How earnings work

You get paid when:

✅ Sponsored messages are displayed
✅ Sponsored messages are clicked

The more AI time you use, the more opportunities there are to earn. Payouts are still WIP as the product was launched just days ago.
